This last week I finished refinishing my grandmother's cedar chest. It's a chest from the 1930's that my grandfather gave to her as a wedding present just before they were married. It was quite beat up and rickety. I had started to work on it a year ago but when we moved, 2 of the boys helping us picked it up and it fell apart in their hands. so a year later my dad was here with my mom for a visit and he put it back together for me with a little bit of my assistance. I finished sanding it down then cleaned it up and stained and lacquered it. So here it is:

I don't know where my brain has gone lately. For the third time, that I can remember, I forgot to put detergent in with the wash. Who does that? So I ran a nice full load of pukey/poopy baby clothes in a tank of cold water. Oh well. People don't usually mention the fact that once you're a mom you become an idiot. I guess that might be considered rude. Granted I have done dumb things in the past. For instance, one time instead of changing my undies, I put a clean pair on top of the day old ones and didn't even realize it until I was getting ready for bed that night. And no, I didn't notice when I went to the bathroom. But I didn't do that three days in a row! I'm betting that with each baby after this one, I'm probably just going to keep getting dumber. How ridiculous. It's just a really good thing I like this kid so much.

He's my little fisherman! I know that I am incredibly biased and it doesn't help that people keep on instilling in me the fact that he's cute, but I am certain he is one of the cutest boys there ever was. He's getting his 3rd and 4th teeth in right now and getting so playful. He loves to share his binky with me and always tries to stick it in my mouth. He's trying to figure out how to clap now and is crawling with his belly off the floor 1/6 of the time, roughly. He absolutely loves pulling my hair and I know he knows he isn't supposed to. The look in his eyes every time he does it and I scold him is just a little too innocent to be real.
He matches his lion so nicely.

New York New York

I'm in my home town right now and I'm so glad to be out here! It had been 8 years since I got to be in NY for the fall and it is so beautiful here. I missed out on a lot of leaves but not all of them and that makes me happy.

We went for a walk down to the local park to play in the leaves.

This is my dreamhome. It's just a few houses down the road from my parents house. The lawn is always so immaculate and there's a little stream running through it. It will be going on the market soon and I hope the new owners will take care of it as well as it's current ones always have!

6 Months Old

My baby is 6 months today! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. These last 6 months have been the best months of my life and I have loved almost every minute of it. Sure there's been a few times here and there where I have wondered why on earth I ever wanted to be a mother, but those are just fleeting thoughts of course. It is so much fun to watch Dex as he learns new things every day. He can drag himself around the house, sit up, blow raspberries, babble, roll over super fast, put things, especially paper, in his mouth, and plays lots with his toys. He's been teething for the last little while but hasn't cut any teeth yet.

He's such a happy boy and I love the time we get together. I made this hat for him and I think he's quite the cutie in it.

Dex is growing so fast it's crazy. He is doing new things all the time and I love it. It made me sad today though when I boxed up a bunch of clothes that he's outgrown. I do miss my tiny little newborn but it is so fun to see the things he does. He rolls over from back to front as well as front to back. He loves paper and gets so mad at me when I take it away from him. He's sleeping in his own bed now which is great for Steven and myself. He's slept through the night 2 times now so at least I know he can! He adjusted quite well to the new house and his own room and we just enjoy spending every day together!

He sits at the dinner table with us now and likes being included. He used to cry when we'd leave him on the floor while we ate so now we just have him sit with us and makes us smile all through dinner.

The old adventures of new Dexter

Deneal got married last weekend and we went up to Oregon for the wedding. We had a lot of fun renting a beach house with the family for a week.

He's getting so great at holding up his head. He's smiling and laughing every day and does that evil thing that babies do: barf all over you and everything 20 times, pee on you when you change them and make you so frustrated when they won't sleep and make you start to wonder why on earth you ever had kids, but then give you a huge smile and a little giggle that makes it totally impossible to be mad at them.

Our little dude is 2 months on the 8th! Today was his check up and his immunizations; such a fun time. The doctor said that he's a perfect baby totally healthy. He is 13.19 lbs in the 82nd percentile and 25.5 in in the 99th percentile.

He smiles so much now and I love it. He even gives tiny little giggles which totally make my days.

For Memorial weekend Steven, Dexter and I headed down to Provo to visit with Micah and his family. Brianna took a bunch of pictures of Dex and his cousins and a few of them can be seen HERE

Dex is on the verge of laughing these days. He is so smiley and happy the majority of the time. He has been fun to watch change and grow. It makes me sad to see him get bigger though and not be my tiny little baby. He'll be 2 months old on Tuesday and I can't believe how fast time is going. I also can't believe how I hardly remember what life was like without him. If anyone is thinking about having a baby, I highly recommend it!

This has become my most favorite face in the whole world. Whenever I close my eyes, this is what I see. I can't even say how much I love this little guy. Dexter is so sweet and so content. He cries when he's hungry, fusses when he's tired or getting his diaper changed and cries during tummy time. All the rest of the time he's so perfect and pretty easy to take care of.

So my pictures are in no particular order here but oh well. I wanted to add this picture of my niece because every time I look at it I laugh. She looks so crazy and I love it!
This is one of the few pictures I've ever been able to get of Guster looking right at the camera without an owl-like glow in his eyes. He'd been sleeping on one of the baby blankets I left draped over the banister to dry after washing. I'm hoping he's realizing what's going on and adjusting. He loves to look into the crib and carseat and sniff all the clean baby clothes.
This was just a couple weeks ago, I can't remember when exactly, but that's a little smaller than I am right now.
I needed practice on diapers and this teddy bear was my volunteer. I am pro at diapering stuffed animals now. I here the real thing is a bit trickier, but we'll see.
My diaper bag. I got it all packed up tonight with extra everythings and baby's coming home outfit. Hopefully it fits him or he'll be coming home naked!
Since we only have around 4 days until baby boy makes his appearance, we decided it might be time to organize his room a bit. This is just a glimpse of how it started.
This is it in the end looking much nicer. We don't have all the furniture or bedding just yet, but all his clothes are organized and clean, no trash left on the floor, and nice and tidy. We got the bassinet all set up in our room yesterday and I've been surprised not to find Guster snoozing in it yet. We're getting pretty excited to meet this boy of ours! I can't wait for the day of labor to be done with and I can just be a mom.

Pizza and apartments

Steven and Eric decided to try out the Fox's Pizza challenge of eating an entire 30" pizza in 1 hour between the two of them. If accomplished, the winners get a free large pizza every week for a year.

This is no easy feat and not for the faint of heart, or stomach.

Unfortunately, they didn't quite make it. Steven ended up throwing up the last couple slices he ate. But he does what to try again sometime. He doesn't take personal defeat well!
And in other Yeip news, we moved! We got to the point where we realized it would be easier to move than to try and clean that old house we lived in. So we found this nice 3 bed, 2.5 bath townhouse for rent and jumped at the chance. It was a very spur of the moment type of thing but we're really loving living here. I have a dishwasher for the first time since I was 19, so that's great! We have a 2 car garage, even though we only have 1 car. It's so nice not to have to scrape our car off in the morning and to not have to run the car for a while to get some heat going! I already don't know how we lived for this long without these amenities!

and our living room. The living room is really small which is pretty much the only downfall of this place, but we made it work for us. All the bedrooms are still messy from the move so I don't have pictures of those. We have a nice huge master bathroom with a shower we can actually stand up in which is great. There's also 2 walk in closets for us! Guster has his own bathroom so it's great not to have to smell kitty litter every time I walk in to get some clothes. We're working on getting the nursery set up. We got a great deal on a crib (which in Steven's eyes was still too much money) which is still sitting in our garage but we're excited that in just one month we'll have a reason to have all this stuff!

Houses of Center Street

Steven and I live in right by the "historic" part of Logan. There are some really beautiful houses that line Center Street and over the summer, Steven and I took a walk and took some pictures of the nice ones. I really love houses. I'm always looking at what's for sale around here and I sometimes look at what's for sale in Ithaca area, in Maine and in Oregon as those are all my favorite places. But here are some of the more lovely homes of Logan:

This little house Steven and I looked into renting but by the time I got a hold of the landlord, it was already taken. It was quite cute on the inside with hard wood floors, lots of windows and cute built in cupboards and shelves.

This place looks so out of place in Utah. I think it belongs more in Florida what with the Spanish Tiled roof and stucco siding.

I really just love how this house is covered in cobblestone instead of siding or brick. So unique and cool.

And this is my favorite house in all of Logan. There's 3 different views of it here because it is just so immensely huge you can't really get the full essence of this house in just one picture.

The towers are so pretty and I love the nice huge wrap around porch.

There's several little balconies all around this place and some really nice features around the windows. I actually daydream about this house and always wonder what it's like on the inside. I'm sure it's full of wainscoating and crowned molding and I bet there's some really nice fireplaces. I would love it if one of those rooms with a tower on it is a library where you can sit in the circular area with a really comfy chair, a lamp, and a great book. This house is owned by the Needham family and anyone who's ever lived in Logan knows who they are. They're the jewelers where a lot of people buy engagement rings.
I definitely complain about Logan quite a bit about how cold it is, the wonderful inversion, the way it smells like kitty litter and cows, how they NEVER plow when it does snow, how bad the drivers are, and many other things, but these houses are something that I really do love here. I drive by them everyday on my way to and from work and I always look at them as I go by. So hopefully now you can like what I like about living here!

Well, 2009 has come and gone and we're into a new year. I don't like winter once Christmas and New Year's is over; it's very depressing. It's cold and it's grey and the snow is hard. Everyone's lights are gone and trees are down. So here's just a couple pictures from our Christmas this year. The top one is our tree with all our presents, for each other and family, under it.
This is the tree at my in-laws house. We had a really nice Christmas Eve and Day there with the Yeips, sans Carl who is on his mission for another year. We did get to talk to him for a while on Christmas morning and it was fun to hear the difference the last year has made in him.
Micah, Heather, Meghan and Brendan all came up on Christmas day and stayed a couple days with us. It's so nice to have in-laws who can get along so well with my family that we can feel comfortable to spend holiday time all together. Micah and Steven took Meghan out and stuck her on an old snowboard and pushed her down the little slope in front of Steven's parents house. She's so cute in all her winter gear.

On to other topics besides Christmas, I'm officially in my last trimester now. It's very scary to me that in just 3 more months I'll have a child. It's seemed kind of surreal. It only really hit me last week that we will actually have a baby and he's not going to just stay in there forever. I look forward to so much about becoming a mom, but I'm dreading the worrying about caring for him and the decisions he'll make one day and the kind of person he'll become. I'm counting on the fact that Steven and I have turned out alright that our kids will too.
Heather is only 6 weeks ahead of me and due next month. She's quite a bit smaller in the belly than I am though. I love that we're both having boys and so close together. Hopefully Baby Boy Howard and Baby Boy Yeip will be good friends one day!

2009 was a good year overall. We had a couple good vacations including one to Oregon/Washington and one to California. I got pregnant, which is probably one of the bigger highlights. I lost my grandmother, but not in some tragic way at least. The nice thing about her passing was being able to be with all my family for a few days and see my cousins who I only see every once in a while. Steven and I fortunate enough to have great friends and great families who make our lives great. We also very fortunate to have each other and to be able to have this baby together. I look forward to 2010 and the new life that will be joining us this year. I think it'll be a great year!

More Christmas Time

My mom sent us a couple Christmas packages full of presents. This box was Guster's favorite present.

We made gingerbread houses with our friends and Coy's and the Olson's. Ours looks more like a gingerbread barn but I still really like it. Steven made the lovely thatched roof and the beautiful pine tree. He made it so there's a bunch of gummy bears dancing around the tree.

Friday evening we went to a Christmas party at our friend's Meg and Mike Suiter. I stole this picture from Jen Gibb who is the one on the floor so everyone can see all the friends and their baby boys. I'm glad that our little one will have 3 buddies all ready and waiting for him!

Christmas is All Around

I just love Christmas time. It's so beautiful and everything just feels a bit better. My mother-in-law have me her old tree so now I have a nice big pretty one instead of my ugly Wal-mart special. The bad thing about such a big tree is I don't have enough ornaments to decorate it with!

We went down to Temple Square the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Deneal flew into town so the whole family went to pick her up and after a good dinner at the Red Rock Cafe we went over to see the lights.

It's quite difficult to get a good picture of everyone, but this is Denise, Deneal, Gavin, Katie, Paul, Neal, and myself. No Steven.

Guster really loves Christmas too. He loves all the boxes full of decorations I get out and tries so hard to be sneaky and get inside them. You can barely see him in this picture peering through the tree branches. He doesn't seem to realize that the tree isn't real and always tries to eat it. He's also knocked off a bunch of ornaments and batted them around and shattered a few of them. I don't really mind on the little cheap ones; at least he's getting some exercise which he is in dire need of.

Even though it is so cold outside right now, it's nice to have a warm little house to get all comfy in. This will more than likely be our last Christmas in this house. I like it a lot even though it doesn't hold the heat very well, the doors kind of stick, the carpets are all stained and worn out, there's big stains on the wallpaper in the kitchen, the toilet handle has to be lifted up after flushing, the countertops are just so very ugly and gross with a permanent dirtyness to them, and every once in a while it smells like old people. It's mine and Steven's first home together. We've had our first Christmas there and will be our baby's first home as well, even if it is for a short period of time. I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas in their homes everywhere!

Baby Boy Yeip

Our camera isn't really the greatest thing in the world with which to take a picture of a picture, but you can get the basic gist of what he looks like. The above picture is his profile and you can see his perfect little face. It looks pretty cute to me!

And this my friends, (above) would be the picture defining his gender. It took a lot of staring at it for me to figure out what exactly I was looking at. The arrow is pointing right to his boyhood. To the right of that is his left knee and his foot and to the left is his right foot. Click to enlarge and see if you can see that too. The ultrasound technician was able to tell right away that it was a boy and so we're quite sure that he's not going to pop out a girl. She had a hard time getting this picture for us though. When she went to his bottom, he was sitting indian style and we couldn't see his boyhood at all. She used the little periscope thingy and tried to get him to move and she got that quick shot.

This picture is one of those 3D ones where the baby looks like a demon. It's really hard to tell what this is and if she hadn't been pointing everything out for us I'd have no clue. But this is part of his face. On the right edge is his nose and mouth and the rest of his face is being covered up by his hand. Most of the time during the u/s he had his hands up to his face; it was quite cute.

This, the technician said, will probably be the last full shot we'll be able to get of him until he comes out because he'll be too big to fit into a shot after this. But this is his back and it's just so amazing to me how I've got this perfect tiny little person just curled up in there! Steven and I are so thrilled to be having a boy. I've wanted a boy first for as long as I can remember because I think that every girl needs a big brother. We were so convinced that it would be a girl because we both wanted a boy and were very surprised when she told us it was a boy. I'm, also very excited that I'm going to be able to use this for our boy!

And this last little picture here is of my dear friend Wraggles modeling a baby hat I made just last night. I love to crochet, keeps my hands busy while I watch movies and whatnot. Yesterday after my appointment I went online and found a bunch of cute patterns for baby items and this is the first one I made. I was pretty excited that it turned out to look just the way it was supposed to look! So for maybe $3 or possibly less, and 1 hour of time, we have our first baby hat!

Exciting Developments

So I had an exciting moment on Saturday. Our friend's Brianna and Wade Siddoway came up for Halloween and we went to the temple for the noon session on Saturday. Bri and I were sitting together and not too far into the session I felt 2 little nudges in my belly. I turned to Bri and whispered "I think I just felt the baby move for the first time!" I pushed in with my hand where I'd felt it move and it nudged at me again. It was so exciting to finally feel it move. I'd been waiting for that to happen for a while now and it was so neat that it happened in the temple. Right now as I write this I can actually feel it moving around a whole bunch like a big butterfly is in there. I think the kiddo likes hot chocolate!

November 5 is the big day where we get to find out what we're having. We both are convinced it's a girl and have been trying to come up with girl names but cannot agree on any. So it'd better be a boy because we have names for that!

We're having a baby!

If you look very closely, you can see the arm.
We had our first sonogram yesterday and it was really amazing to see your little baby moving around down there. It was moving it's little arm like it was waving at us and it's little heart was fluttering at 176 bpm. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen and we're so excited!

Oregon '09

So Steven and I headed up to the Pacific Northwest for a week and got to see Steven's sister Deneal and our friends the Mitchell's!

Here we are on top of Mt. Spokane with a little boy we kidnapped. Just kidding. That's Lindsay and Patrick's cutie pie Nolan.

We tried to go camping here but all the sites were taken. Sad. But we cooked corn dogs over a fire and walked around a bit. It was cool. After that we went to a funpark place and played miniature golf, go carts and laser tag. Just so you know, laser tag is awesome!

After Spokane we headed over to Seattle. Above are some of the most delicious things I've ever had in my life called a pirohshky. Below is the Space needle!

One day while we were in Oregon we went over to the shore and went crabbing. 5 hours of crabbing and we caught 2 keeper crabs. We could only keep the males and they had to be bigger than 5.75 inches otherwise we had to toss it back. It was scary at first to try and pick them up but after a while we learned how to do it. Below is a video of Steven trying to grab out little crab which later became our dinner!

After the crabbing, we went to the beach and made a fire and boiled up some corn on the cob and ate our two little crabs.

On our drive home, Steven, Deneal and I stopped by a place called Punch Bowl Falls and hiked the 2 miles to the waterfalls. It was really beautiful.

We had a lot of fun and it was really nice to see our good friends. Patrick has such an awesome family who were so nice to us and let us crash at their place. Unfortunately we didn't take hardly any pictures while we were in Spokane, but oh well!

Honeymoon

I recently came across the memory card from the camera Steven had for the first week of our marriage. It reached it's tragic demise in the shallows of the Atlantic Ocean just off the shore of Maine. These are it's final pictures:

This is the little cottage we stayed in. It was so cute and we really enjoyed staying there. For pictures of the interior click here and you can take a virtual tour and everything as we did not get any pictures ourselves of the inside.

The harbor of Camden, ME and a very large yacht

We went for a bike ride one day that took us back around Camden then all along the coastline where there were some really beautiful houses.

This was one of our stops on our bike ride. It's called the Children's Chapel and it had really beautiful gardens all around it and it overlooks the water. A lot of people get married there which would be really lovely.

One day we went sailing on a schooner which was also the final voyage of our camera.

We sailed to an island a ways off shore where we had a lobster dinner. This picture I find just so adorable. The little boy was on the schooner with us and the kitten lives on the island and begs bits of lobster from tourists.

Dinner. Between the two of us, Steven and I ate 5 lobsters in their entirety that night. They were amazing.

Steven actually stripped off his shirt and jumped in and retrieved it. He had a very chilly sailride back to mainland. It's hard to believe that it's been close to 2 years since that wonderful trip. We hiked, ate a LOT of seafood, looked around all the cute little villages, biked, sailed, golfed, and watched a few movies. It may forever be my favorite vacation not just because I did so many fun things in a place I love but because of the person I got to do them all with!

21 Things I Like and Don't Like About My Job

There are days when I truly love my job and then days where I just hate it. So I've decided to make a list of all the thing I like and don't like about it here. Maybe in the end I'll see if it's truly worth being here or not.

1. I love the apple trees right outside the windows. Especially right now in the spring with the pretty red and white flowers budding on them. We get little birds nests as well so I can just listen to the little twitter or them while I work.

2. I hate that my boss hums dumb little songs while he walks around the building.

3. I love shredding documents.

4. I love that I'm the only one who knows how to make the copy machine work. Everyone has to ask me to copy stuff for them because when they try, it doesn't work and they get angry because it is such a crappy old machine. I take a small, kind of pathetic pride in the fact that I alone seem to have mastered that copier.

5. I hate that I smell like iodine when I go home.

6. I hate people with accents that call in. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THEM!!!

7. I love telling people with accents to just e-mail someone or fax stuff in.

8. I love hanging up on sales people. I love even more when they call back and say "I think we were disconnected" and I get to hang up on them again.

9. I like my co-workers. I'm the only girl here so I just get to hang out and joke around with guys all day. They all have a dirty sense of humor, so I rarely have to worry about going over the line of appropriateness as they can take everything SO much further than I can and thus, I don't need to worry about embarrassing myself. Secondly with them, it is so much fun when 4 or 5 of us go out to lunch. We end up being gone for close to 2 hours on those occasions, and we just talk and laugh pretty much the ENTIRE time. I love those days.

10. I like that we can watch movies while we label or tighten bottles. It's relaxing and when the UPS or FedEx guys come by they think we've got a great job because we're all sitting around a conference table laughing.

11. I hate that we have to tighten bottles by hand. I've had horrible blisters from it as we've had to tighten 20,000 bottles per batch every few months.

12. I love that I can tell people that I work at a laboratory. They all think I'm some kind of scientist or chemist and that I'm really smart.

13. I hate telling people that I'm only the receptionist about 5 seconds after they think I'm really smart.

14. I hate that other people use my bathroom. Boys smell bad, thus the bathroom I use also smells bad.

15. I hate the color of the walls. Who thought seafoam green would be a good color for the tiles all over the building. Plus, we have dark green shower curtains in our windows. Very classy.

16. I love when someone who has never been in our building before comes in. We don't get many people coming in and out of our building that aren't delivery guys or FedEx reps. So it's just so funny to see the look on people's faces when they look around our building at our lovely seafoam green walls, green shower curtains, boxes of who knows what lying everywhere, and shelves of binders. Plus, we usually aren't very friendly for some reason as we never expect people here. I never greet these people. Just stare at them until they start talking to me. It's great.

17. I hate that the water in our faucets isn't drinkable. There's always little black floaties in it so I avoid it.

18. I love that my boss has Tums on hand. There's nothing worse than getting the rumblies in the tummy that can only mean one thing and guys use your bathroom. Talk about embarrassing. Those Tums have saved me more than once.

19. I hate how many paper cuts I get. I fold lots of invoices and past due statements so I tend to get a lot of paper cuts.

20. I hate my printer. With a passion. There's some gear inside of it that squeaks like crazy. I had to print of 60 catalogs not that long ago and we had to take the printer into a different room to print them off because we were all going nuts from the squeaking. When I leave here, I would love to take that printer with me and murder it.

21. And lastly I figured I should end this on a good note. One of my very favorite things about my job that I often get plenty of bubble wrap to pop. I do the receiving of all our incoming orders which includes unpacking them and putting them away. Sometimes things come wrapped in bubble wrap and I get to pop it all I want. Today, I even got in a package with the giant bubbles!

Looking back over my list I guess that all in all it's not too bad of a place to work in the end.

So our kitchen has pretty much no counter space and our microwave took up the majority of what we do have. So I really wanted to microwave cart to clear up some space and us the empty wall we have. I found one I really loved at TJMaxx but it was $140. I searched far and wide and eventually I found this little ugly duckling at the DI.

I took one of the doors that had been on the bottom and made it be a swing down door. I sanded, primed, drilled, stained, painted and top coated everything myself. I'm very proud of it and it ended up costing me around $40 so I saved a good $100 in the end and I love it so much more!

Steven had spring break from school this week and we ended up working fulltime everyday but yesterday. We decided to have a long weekend and we went skiing all day yesterday at Snow Basin with my father-in-law. Here are some pictures of the fun!

Tis the time for the season of loving

Well it was recently the season of love and we had Valentine's Day. We ended up going to Park City with 3 other couples. We shopped around the town, ate a a cute cafe that had the BEST gyros I've ever had. We then stayed at our friend Callie's grandparents cabin a little ways a way from Park City. We had so much fun there playing in the snow and sledding in the morning. Her grandparents were really cool and a lot of fun to talk to. We unfortunately are terrible at taking pictures and have none to post. Sorry we're so lame! However, last weekend I got into a huge cleaning mood and rearranged out whole house. I made our quilt box fit into our bedroom and here is how it looks:

With it as always is the Gusterman. And last but not least, I got glasses. So here's a picture of me with my new look. I realize my neck looks really fat in this picture, but that's just because of the way my hair is hanging. I don't normally have a steroid neck.

A lap blanket I made this last year. It took me a while to buy all the yarn. It's not perfect, but I like the imperfections. They make it look cooler I think.

A bookshelf I got from my work. I recovered almost all the shelves in old vintage wallpaper that can be better seen in the below picture.

Those two above are of an antique quilt box we got for Christmas from Steven's Aunt. It matches our headboard perfectly but, unfortunately, our bedroom is too small to get it at the foot of the bed. Someday when we have our own place we'll be able to get it all together and it'll look like a cute country bedroom.

This windowbox is Guster's favorite haunt in the summer where we can watch birds and bees in the apple tree just outside and get lots of sun. I love that that couch fit in there so perfectly. It's a great place on summer days to lie and read and take Sunday naps. It's too cold in the winter because of all the windows.

So we haven't posted anything in a super long time. For some reason Blogger decided it would be a good idea to change my sign-in e-mail name without telling me. Anyhoo, I was browsing gap.com yesterday and found this little outfit in the baby section. It was so cute it made me want to have a baby right now just so I could dress it in this. I sent the link to my mom and she ended up buying it for me and saving it in a chest she made for all the little baby things she's been gathering for me for the future. Isn't she just the world's best mom/grandma? I certainly think so. So if anyone else likes this outfit gap.com has it and a couple similar!

We're going to make it after all

Well we've made it a whole year and we're still together! We don't have any pictures from our actual anniversary as our camera is currently broken, but we had a great time. We went up to the Snow Basin Lodge and had a super fancy dinner on top of the mountain. It was really great.
My parents came out from New York a couple weeks ago and these are pictures my mom took. The temple and rainbows here are just so cool.

Sawtooth Backpacking Trip

Over the weekend we took a backpacking trip to the Sawtooth Mountains up in Idaho. It was a 5 hour drive there and then 4 days of hiking and camping.

So Steven and I decided to follow the crowds and start our own blog so people can check up on us! We were going to do it for family night this past Monday but we ended up too tired and so now I'm at work and I'm bored, so I doing it now.
